• VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • We have several opportunities for you to volunteer with us at Gay Bingo. Even if you have tickets you can help us with set-up or breakdown. If you have any questions please contact Tisha Broomfield at l.broomfield@carolinarain.org or at 704-973-9821.

     

    COVID precautions for the event include a vaccine requirement for all guests, volunteers and patrons of the event (including wearing masks while inside). This year’s Gay Bingo Charlotte fundraiser will be a vaccinated only event.

    SET UP VOLUNTEERS

    Volunteers will help set tables which include putting together programs, setting up props, putting programs and signage on tables, and other duties as they come up. You must be able to work with others and follow directions (sometimes things change or need to be reworked). Lifting and carry is/can be a part of this job.

    • First Shift: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

    • Second Shift: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

    • Volunteers Needed: Unlimited
    • Dress Code: comfortable clothes and shoes

    RAFFLE SALES VOLUNTEERS

    Volunteers will walk throughout the ballroom selling raffle tickets throughout the evening to attendees. There are two raffle options - $5 raffle tickets and $1 raffles (one ticket for a $1 or six tickets for $5). You must be organized, out-going and friendly, stay cool under pressure, work with others good with money.
    • Arrival Time: 4:00 PM
    • Volunteers Needed: 25 volunteers
    • Dress Code: Come in fairytale theme or something nice and casual (you will be wearing an apron to assist you in holding money and tickets)

    VACCINE VERIFICATION VOLUNTEERS

    Volunteers will work with the ticket scanners to verify guests are vaccinated by reviewing their vaccine card (this can be a copy or picture) against their ID (passport, driver’s license or military ID). You must be friendly, confident, assertive and able to stay cool under pressure.

    • Arrival Time: 4:00 PM
    • Volunteers Needed: 10 volunteers
    • Dress Code: Come in fairytale theme or something nice and casual

    TICKET SCANNERS

    Volunteers will scan attendee tickets and check them in. This includes making sure they have their wristbands (it’s part of the show and allows us to monitor ticket holders and non-ticket holders). You must be friendly, confident, and able to stay cool under pressure.

    • Arrival Time: 4:00 PM
    • Volunteers Needed: 10 volunteers
    • Dress Code: Come in fairytale theme or something nice and casual

    RESERVED TABLE VOLUNTEERS

    Volunteers will greet reserved table attendees, showing them on the master map where their table is located, escort them to their table (if needed) and release it to the purchaser. You must be assertive, friendly and out-going.

    • Arrival Time: 5:00 PM
    • Volunteers Needed: 8 volunteers
    • Dress Code: Come in fairytale theme or something nice and casual

    BACK STAGE VOLUNTEERS

    Volunteers will assist with the flow of the entire show - everything behind the scenes. This includes the BVD and Barbara Burning Bush's entrances, curtain calls, prop moves, etc. You must be able to work with others and stay cool under pressure.

    • Arrival Time: 5:00 PM
    • Volunteers Needed: 4 volunteers
    • Dress Code: dark, comfortable clothes and shoes (you will mostly be behind stage - behind the scenes)

    BREAKDOWN VOLUNTEERS

    Volunteers will assisting with breaking down the venue and stage at the end of the evening for removal. You will clear tables of daubers and trash, break down set design, and load up supplies in truck for transport to RAIN office. You can volunteer for this if you are attending the event or volunteering at a different opportunity.
